The General Election is being held in 2026.
As there are specific websites to go to for learning about candidates and their policies, we want to make sure that members’ newsfeeds are not being bombarded with the election content during this time.
Keeping this in mind, this is how Neighbourly will operate during elections:
1) Candidates and parties are able to share information relevant to the area on the site (For example: "Voting opens this Saturday, you can find your nearest voting booth here...") and able to reply on a member's post if they are asking relevant questions. However, candidates and parties won't be able to campaign about themselves on the local noticeboard. This is limited to advertising on the site.
2) Neighbourly will be encouraging candidates and parties to take out some paid advertising using our promoted posts. Simply get in touch with sales@neighbourly.co.nz if this is something you're interested in.
If you have any questions about this year's elections on Neighbourly, don't hesitate to be in touch with the Neighbourly team by emailing helpdesk@neighbourly.co.nz or by clicking here.
