Neighbourly is a space for respectful community-based conversation. To keep the platform a positive space for all, Neighbourly moderates content that breaches our Guidelines.
Our Guidelines are a set of policies set in place to ensure Neighbourly members have a great experience online thanks to discussions that are inclusive, respectful and relevant to local communities. All members agree to these when they create an account.
From time to time, you may notice one of your comments/posts has been removed. If this should happen, you will always receive an email notifying you of the particular breach with a link to contact us.
In the event that an original post adheres to our Guidelines but the overall discussion has become unfriendly, the original poster will receive an email with some tips for handling the situation. From time to time Neighbourly does have to intervene and disable comments to avoid further Guideline breaches occurring. We reserve the right to do this at any time.
Please note that posting publicly about your content being moderated is considered off-topic and unproductive, and any abuse directed at Neighbourly will be moderated accordingly.
What can I do?
- If it isn't clear from our email why your content was removed, we encourage you to contact us and we will be happy to clarify
- If the conversation is getting off-topic, it may be time to move it to a private message with a neighbour instead
- If you're not sure what you can talk about, please refer to our Help section containing all Moderation Policies
- If you're keen to chat about a particular topic, but you're finding it breaches our Guidelines for overposting or pushing an agenda, we encourage you to set up a Group! This will be a private space for you and your neighbours to share thoughts on a particular topic.
