Yes! We understand the importance of keeping up to date with the latest news, and have Stuff journalists regularly sharing announcements on the platform.
If you are wanting to share news with your neighbours, you are welcome to. However it is best practice to reference authors for their work. Please include a link and source for any news you are posting to your noticeboard. Sources ensure members have context to the information shared and can assess the authenticity and quality of the source. This is of particular importance in the Covid age and helps make Neighbourly a trustworthy place to consume news.
We also encourage you to give context on why you are sharing the article. Simply posting a link or copied text can clutter the newsfeed and does not often lead to engaging conversation. Instead, try asking members for their opinion or share your own thoughts on the piece.
So that all member posts can have their time in the spotlight, we ask that you pick and choose articles that are most relevant to your neighbourhood and avoid overposting. If you are wanting to share news articles on a daily basis, we please ask that you consider creating a dedicated Group. Remember that your local journalists are sharing regular updates on Neighbourly too.
Please note content considered to be conspiracy theories, misinformation or deliberately polarising opinions are prohibited on Neighbourly and may be removed.
